Chocolatey, marshmallow glued, graham cracker crunchy-munchy bars!
For full recipe see below!
This recipe isn’t anything new to the world, but I was slow on the uptake and just discovered these crunchy-munchy bars a couple weeks ago. It was like one of those scenes in the movies where the adorable couple who hasn’t seen each other in years runs towards each other in slow mo….yes, yes I know, it’s a tiny bit pathetic that I found the complement to my heart in a S’more Bar, but it’s the life of a dessert-aholic. But I mean come on ….how can your mouth not be watering? …. just look at it!
These bars are basically a S’more form of a rice krispie treat. They are glued together with marshmallows, but they use Golden Grahams cereal instead of Rice Krispies. And since they’re s’mores, chocolate is in order! They are a great summer treat to make when you don’t actually have time to make the real deal or in the winter when you are pretending you aren’t buried under 2 feet of snow (more of my life)! They would be great to bring to a 4th of JUly party or a summer BBQ too!
You’ll only need 5 ingredients for this amazingly simple recipe: Golden Grahams cereal, marshmallows, chocolate chips, butter, and Hershey’s bars (picture 1). Start by melting down the butter and marshmallows (picture 2 and 3). Once the mixture is completely melted, remove from heat and throw in the cereal (picture 4). Mix in the chocolate chips and excess marshmallows (picture 5 and 6). Now press the mixture into a buttered 9×13 pan (picture 7). Press Hershey’s squares into the bars to give it more s’mores flavor (picture 8)!
