So what’s up with Birch Tree Baking?
Here’s what y’all viewed the most in 2015:
- Vanilla Bean Macarons – These were voted the most popular by both my family and you lovely viewers. And it is no surprise why! These macarons manage to be both rich and refreshingly light at the same time…keep up the good work Vanilla Bean Macarons!
- Almond Joy Coconut Macaroons – These were the most popular on my blog for 2014 too! They are whimsically similar to the Almond Joy candy bar, but sophisticated enough that you don’t feel like you’re eating candy.
- Lemon Curd Macarons – These guys feel a little passed over. They kicked off The Macaron Rampage of 2015 (read about that here) but still got beaten out of first place by those Vanilla Bean Macarons…maybe next year guys!
- Chocolate Eclairs – While custard still haunts my dreams, I guess it was worth it. Who doesn’t love a good French pastry? And who doesn’t adore anything smothered in chocolate?!
- Mexican Wedding Cakes – My family gives me all sorts of grief for not putting pecans in my Mexican Wedding Cakes, but y’all didn’t seem to mind! Thanks for proving them wrong!
So while the numbers say these are the most popular on my blog, I have a different set of favorites!
Posts I’m most proud of:
Gingerbread House – Because it took forever to make, and I’m really proud that it is completely from scratch!
Sticky Buns – Because oh my god, it’s 7 months later and I’m still drooling.
German Chocolate Cake – Because it is by far my favorite cake! I’ve been brainstorming what to make for my 2nd year blog-iversary (coming up in February), and I keep wanting to just make another German Chocolate Cake. Seriously, y’all have got to try it!
Eating in Prague and Eating in Krakow– Looking back on my 2015, the trip I took to Eastern Europe with my mom and sister was undoubtedly the highlight! I hope y’all make it over there sometime and can try out some of my suggestions! Stay tuned for posts on Budapest and Paris!
Nutella Almond Cherry Granola – My family teases me that I am constantly making all these desserts and then eat two or three of whatever it was and leave the rest for them to clean up. Well, that is not true of this recipe. This is the recipe I’ve made the most this year…besides macarons…but that was more out of determination to get them right than actually wanting more macarons! Anyways… I love how this recipe can talk you into thinking that you are being healthy because it is granola but really you are eating Nutella and chocolate chips….is that genius or what? I’ve already made it twice since I’ve been home this winter break and have the ingredients ready to go for a third batch!
Stay tuned for more YUMMINESS coming up in the new year!
Looks like it was a great year! Congratulations!
